Isobella

March 2007 - Basking in the success of a recent supporting role to another Arctic Monkeys gig, The Little Flames were at the point of releasing their new single entitled 'Isobella'. To be released on 26 March on the Deltasonic Records label, it promised to catapult the group into the spotlight and turn more than a few heads.

Think of Liverpool, home town of The Little Flames, and you think of The Beatles. The latest single had all the makings of a classic Beatles track for the 21st century. A speaker scorching lead guitar opener with sound guitar rifting courtesy of Miles Kane and Mat Gregory sent shivers down the spine.

Expertly executed jaunty beats thanks to Greg Mighall, interspersed with spells of up tempo instrumental coursing, were both inspiring and appealing to the ear of the listener. Eva Petersen's understated vocal style and some enduring, timeless guitar playing generated a memorable blend of words and music.

Label compatriots The Coral and The Zutons were strong influences as well as good friends, and The Little Flames were heading for the same success.

'Isobella' was the follow up to their previous single 'Put Your Dukes Up John', which was covered and used by The Arctic Monkeys as a b-side and looked set to go down a storm.
