Join Dan Sartain

Or as the album title should fully read: "Join Dan Sartain and embrace the dark side".

Sartain, a 24-year-old native of Birmingham, Alabama, performs songs shot through with midnight hue, coming on like the bastard son of Daniel Jeanrenaud and Alison Krauss in the process.

In 2006, The Guitarist magazine profiled Dan in their Fret Buzz section, raving "Rock 'n' roll, surf guitar, country, mambo and punk energy combined in the serpentine sound of rising star Dan Sartain". That's one way of describing him.

Another is a youthful Nick Cave playing at such a pace as if his very life depends on it. Still another is a 21st century Johnny Cash. Especially so on the epic 'Replacement Man'. Clearly, there is a new Man in Black.
